Lush green forests, magnificent mountains, vibrant tribe culture, the rhythmic chants at the beautiful monasteries are only a few of the magnificent features that define Sikkim. So, what else is so unique about this North East State that leads India in various green initiatives? Sikkim has become a symbol of climate leadership by becoming the first state to become 100% organic, banning all plastic and now launching an information portal that transparently shares data on its carbon/GHG emissions.
Vertiver carried out extensive research on the issue of crop residue burning collecting data, case studies and solution that have been proposed by government and private sector. Our team of filmmakers, writers and designers conceptualized a narrative and translated it into an animation film showcasing all research from problems to solutions into a single 9 minute film.
Forests are our absolute first love at Vertiver! Weâve shaped and moulded stories across digital and print media on forests in Madhya Pradesh, Sikkim, Karnataka, Himachal, Uttarakhand, Assam and more. So when we were asked to serve as communication partners to USAIDâs IeMAC programme in Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh we could hardly wait to get started!
Vertiver is one of the key implementing partners of Su-Dhara, a sentinel project on urban waste management under the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the Government of Indiaâs Waste to Wealth Mission.Delhi generates approximately 14,000 tonnes of solid waste per day, of which only 6,100 tonnes can be processed through incineration and composting, and the rest ends up in Delhiâs three landfills â Okhla, Bhalswa and Ghazipur, all of which reached their capacity in 2008.
