Vertiver worked closely with the Department of Science and Technology under India's Ministry of Science and Technology to develop a design and dissemination platform for FarmerZone, a cloud-based service for smallholder farmers. FarmerZone was announced at an international consultation for which Vertiver served as the event partner:
Working closely with the scientists at DBT, Vertiver translated the vision of FarmerZone into a concept note for national and international experts in smart agriculture. We developed the strategic narrative for FarmerZone, researching and copywriting to render the complexity of the overlap between technology and agriculture, into a clearly articulated, comprehensible background paper. In partnership with Iora Ecological Solutions , we helped DBT design and define the Agenda for the international consultation at which FarmerZone was presented, ensuring the participation of strategic stakeholders in Smart Agriculture from around the world, using design looks to creat a differented identity for farmerzone. we developed advertisements in Hindi and English to create awareness of the initiative to a broader national audience. Finally, as Event Partners to DBT, we organized all aspects of the FarmerZone event held at the Pravasi Bharatiya Kendra on August 29th to the 31st. Smart Agriculture is a topic our sustainability hearts beat for. We are so happy to have helped DBT create a successful launch of the FarmerZone for their audience, and are continuing to work with them to shape the concept further.
The International Day of Forests was celebrated on the 21st March across various cities in India reverberating the United Nations 2018 Theme 'Forests and Sustainable Cities' with an aim to raise awareness of the importance of all floral biodiversity and celebrate the ways in which they sustain and protect us. We created the theme 'Urban Forests, Healthy Cities' that informs people about how forests form an integral part of human life and is crucial to urban landscapes. The Redevelopment and Upgradation of Okhla Bird Sanctuary was launched to reviatlize the Sanctuary into a world-class destination for the first time in 20 years.
While working on various communications on forestsin India we noticed that there was no official compaign in india to mark the international day of forests.so,we conceptualized and developed the “forests are life” campaign which was launched by MOEFCC and USAID on March 21, 2015. We created an iconic representation of the word Forests by representing each character in the word ‘forests’ into a unique service that forests provide in india.we created more than 14 different graphics in multiple languages to represent the relationship of forests to culture, biodiveristy, water etc. We are extremely proud of this campaign, as it went on to become a repeating campaign launched each year by the government.
By working closely with folk artists and folk styles to represent the intricate relationship that India’s communities and biodiversity has with forests, we have been able to bring to life the essence of the importance of forests to India, its people, culture and future.
Over the past 4 years we have developed new variations on the theme of forests are life and in 2017 the Chief Minister of Assam launched the Forests are Life campaign across digital and print media across the state.
