As hesitant as we were at the beginning about working with a real estate company, the traditional branding and advertising work for them funded our initial foray in the environmental and social impact sector! As new comers to India at that time, what we learnt about the "Indian Customer landscape" through the ATS lens remains invaluable in our journey. The typical India Customer is typified as a "value for money" customer but that is only a small aspect of the story. They are driven by wanting to be around community, family, maintaining inter-generational ties and almost always will choose a safe all-inclusive housing complex to live in over an individual home in the country. We also learnt a lot about the "affordable housing" market in India which from our lens remains a huge opportunity for truly sustainable architecture in the country, not the built environment.
